Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP is the federal entitlement program (formerly the Food Stamp Program) that provides supplemental food and nutrition assistance to low income people. SNAP recipients use EBT cards, similar to debit cards, to purchase food in authorized retail stores.
